AEO
Answer engine optimisation: making a brand’s information structured, sourced and unambiguous enough that a system which answers a question directly can use it and cite it. It is not a ranking technique — answer engines assemble responses rather than ordering pages.
Also written Answer engine optimization. Atlas writes British English; the definition is the same.

Why it matters
The consequence, not the conceptIt changes what counts as success. A page can hold position one and still be absent from the answer a system assembles, because assembly selects for extractable, corroborated statements rather than for rank. A team measuring only position will not see the loss.
